The unit began with a focus on electricity and circuits as a starting point to understand how humans have made advances to harness forms of energy and transfer them into other forms that meet our needs and wants.
They have a short time to work together to solidify their plans, collect their materials and build their creations.
Their inventions must:
- transfer one form of energy to another form of energy
- meet a need or want (be built for a specific purpose)
Skills that will be important during this process are:
- Self-management and Self-reflection
- controlling ourselves and knowing how we act and react within the group
- Research Skills
- being able to identify key questions about the energy forms chosen, focus research, and take clear and organized notes while recording sources responsibly
- Communication Skills
- communicating respectfully with our group members and communicating our new knowledge clearly for The Invention Convention (September 26th, 2016 in the afternoon- invitations coming soon)
